Our Muay Thai Camp
The Diamond Muay Thai camp is located on stunning Koh Phangan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. Diamond is situated away from busy roads in a quiet and undeveloped area where you can train and stay amongst Koh Phangan’s awesome jungle and mountain views. Our Muay Thai camp is just 2 minutes walk from the beach in Nai Wok (the west coast of Koh Phangan) and only a short walk from a nature reserve with scenic views.
Thong Sala, the main town on the island is just a 5 minute walk away - and there you will find all of the amenities that you’ll need- from banks and restaurants, to cheap night-markets and food stalls.
Our Gym Facilities
Our Muay Thai gym has all of the training equipment expected from a top class Thai boxing facility. A high traditional Thai- style roof covers a large 6x6m ring and an expansive matted training area. This allows for cool sea and mountain breezes to pass through the gym during training. Our onsite shop also stocks a range of equipment and a variety of Muay Thai shorts, training T-shirts and vests.
Here at Diamond we take both safety and hygiene seriously. The gym, all of the public areas and toilet blocks are disinfected at least every day. We also provide shin guards, head guards and other protective equipment to our Muay Thai students when they are needed.
Within our Muay Thai gym and alongside our boxing ring there are over 15 work-stations on which to develop and polish your Muay Thai techniques. We have a selection of various-sized bags, hanging tyres for boxing, punching blocks and a floor-to-ceiling speedball. The gym has a large mirrored area with matted flooring so there is plenty of space for stretching, shadow boxing and technical sparring.
At Diamond we are always looking to improve the facilities. At the beginning of 2015 we built our new open-air strength and conditioning studio. Here you will find a multitude of crossfit equipment and weights. We have a multi-gym, a variety of kettle bells and free weights, work-out benches, abdominal rollers, medicine balls, TRX, sets of gymnastic rings, chin-up bars and dip bars.
The Diamond Muay Thai camp is a quiet and peaceful place outside of training times, and is the perfect place to relax between training sessions. Our Muay Thai camp houses our ‘train and stay’ students and amongst their bungalows are several ‘chill out’ areas and hammocks. If you are not exploring the many local beaches and attractions of Koh Phangan, many students spend time with our trainers, watch movies or are welcome fall asleep in the ring! Diamond has a family atmosphere and the vibe around camp is always very easy-going.
